The last remaining element of Lawrence Halprin’s famous Skyline Park is the two remaining fountains, one adjacent to the Palm Restaurant between The Mall and 17th and the other in the 3rd block between 17th and 18th. These fountain exemplify this famous landscape architect’s work, and are developed as interactive play sculptures for all people to enjoy. While in disrepair today, these fountains are threatened to be demolished as a part of the Skyline Park redesign effort, which is likely to remove these vestiges of the original Helprin design for the park
