Rosedale House

Printer-friendly version

One of the few remaining homes original to the founded town of Rosedale. Part of the first development built by George Timerman in 1887, a prominent developer at the time. Only a handful of the original modest Victorians remain in Sec 27. In the map from 1889 you can see Rosedale was only a small section on the corner of Evans & Broadway. It is now part of Overland.

The home also represents the Plantation that was on the forty acres. The Bolling Hall brothers, John, Joseph and Hines all from Elmore Alabama purchased the land in 1873 and possibly had a structure at this site? The original abstract belonging to this home has loads of history which should be shared and saved for those wishing to have future knowledge of our sweet past.

The home itself is of modest Queen Anne and has all the original exterior doors and windows in tact.
