The Re-Envisioning Historic Chinatown Project is working on the historical markers and mural to replace the existing plaque marking the “Hop Alley/Chinese Riot of 1880,” near 20th and Blake streets. The description on the plaque is incorrect and provided a misleading view of the Chinese community at the time. The historical markers and mural project, located where Denver’s Chinatown once thrived and flourished, are expected to be completed this year (2021).
